What is VAERS?

The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System is a national early-warning system co-sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to detect possible safety problems in vaccines licensed for use in the United States.

Who can report?

Anyone can submit a report to VAERS — healthcare providers, vaccine manufacturers, and members of the public, including patients, parents, and caregivers.

A report to VAERS does not mean the vaccine caused the event. Reports may contain information that is incomplete, inaccurate, or unverified.
